This is the point I was making yes
This is the point I was making yes
I think we are meaning the same thing then
In that case matrix also doesn’t federate because its not interacting with the fediverse like here on lemmy.
But revolt, matrix, and rocket.chat are all deployable by end users to connect to the platform and interact with people.
There is revolt and rocket.chat but yes I’d still do matrix over the others unless a direct discord-like clone is absolutely a must for some reason
For those of us on lemmy.zip we can search a.lemmy.zip and it brings up an alexandrite browser version of lemmy.
We can also do m.lemmy.zip for mobile
Is this exclusive to lemmy.zip or so other do this too?
Everyone on lemmy is Rutherford
Unless there is some behind the scenes stuff not in the us they seem to be made in the us, probably material import costs maybe.
What do they mean? I have no idea lol
I started seeing the utility of the dresses after I saw the pockets
I think there are companies that you can ship to a valid address then ship to where you are but that is extra money unfortunately
Image? I can’t picture it for some reason, they do have other away mission clothes though
Just like the baby from 2001 space odyssey
How do we activate this feature? I have it enabled after going into the developer settings menu but nothing seems to happen, I see mentions of an app but idk what the app is. I am on grapheneOS though instead of normal android so there could be something with that here.
Oh nvm I figured it out, it just took a bit for me to realize there was a new terminal app on my phone
I agree, let’s make it more friendly to people wanting to start a fediverse provider as a business so a big company can’t come in and gobble up everyone
Elastio seems to be a devops platform as opposed to a standalone “buy my service to get a feature rich access to the fediverse or mastodon or peertube specifically, whatever” service like the typical email service providers nowadays
To add to the initial comment, the reason why we would want this is the same reason why we should be donating to instance admins, it only gets more competitive and more work involved the bigger the fediverse gets and the more competitive it gets with offering unique experiences
Let’s look at email as a history example, google gobbled up everyone for gmail.
If fediverse goes the way of email where it infinitely will grow and compete for the most part eventually businesses offering instances as services will be the norm, we can just jump ahead and try to it right before big tech starts to gobble it up.
I used to have the same issue with using similar related words that don’t quite fit in until I took a close look at my overall health habits and realized I had none whatsoever, so then I went through and meticulously one by one improved my sleep, diet, exercise habits and that issue along with so many other things have improved tremendously, I can’t emphasize reanalyzing health enough! I thought I was healthy enough but it turned out there were so many things I lacked when I looked closer.
I think the answer is anything between what the fediverse is now and what email did to get where it is now…I’d like to see some kind of history of how email developed over the years now that I think about it, that would be pretty interesting at least.
On global switch day I’m pretty sure I convinced at least 1 person to try out mastodon but not sure
I’m doing my part too!
I guess i was taking the more generous route with the term then, I was treating capability to interact on the platform as federated which in hindsight doesn’t make as much sense as in the normal context of it.
