Exactly, I dont prefer new cars. No one wants this tech crap just like no one wants smart fridges. They are shoved on us to make more money for the billionaires.
Yes, I know. I dont always have it. And I’m getting a pixel with graphene in the near future as well!
I just wish we could get an electric with the exact same features a 1990 civic had, like the other comment stated.
A few years ago there were a few models (VW eUp, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii), which were bare bones electric cars. Didn’t even have a radio or FOB. I liked the idea of simply having a phone holder, so you could bring your own device for GPS and music.
Unfortunately they were discontinued, but you might be lucky to find them used. Obviously the batteries were also small in comparison to today’s standards.
I’d much rather an electric thats not interconnected 24/7 and controlled by the company / government.
Can we have that please ? No? No electric for me ever then.
That is a “new car” issue, not specific to electric motors.
You can keep driving old cars for as long as possible but I have to ask: Do you carry a cell phone? Because they’re tracking your phone anyway.

My 2019 Leaf is great! Knobs, no internet, no apps, good battery, reasonably comfortable to drive.
