    gotta make up the loss to the gas tax somewheres

    washington state is looking at charging people per mile driven in a miles per year tax to solve the problem.

    i’m all for it.

      It would be better to target semi trailers, since they cause the vast majority of road wear. They’re also commercial vehicles, so they already have reporting requirements.

      What would they do if we all switched to walking, bikes and public transport?

      That would work as long as they don’t do something stupid like mandate a GPS tracker to track miles or some crap
