A space camp for girls, named for the late 'Star Trek' actress Nichelle Nichols, is launching in January 2026. Friends of the actress speak to PEOPLE about the impact the camp will have on women in STEM.
Ah, Space Camp. I live in the Huntsvile area. It’s already a thing. It costs $1200 per person if you go as a child by themselves (probably put into a random group or something), or $600 per person if you go with a school. I went as a 7th grader. God, this should be something significantly better than that. Space Camp was for fucking around and getting out of school for a week. I was really into space stuff, didn’t learn anything. They shit on astrology, that was cool.
