Over the past few days, I have received 2 identical scam direct messages from freshly created accounts on different instances (I immediately blocked user and messaged instance admins, with no response yet), namely aggregatet.org and feddit.rocks. I was wondering if others had experienced this issue, so I could see if it was an escalating issue.
It’s a known spam wave affecting multiple lemmy servers - please report any spam DMs you receive. 🔨
I got one that I’ve heard has been going around that starts…
“Hi, I’m Nichole! But you can call me the Fediverse Chick :D”
That user/bot is posting three different links as means of contact, from friendica.world, peertube.it, and stumblechat.com. I’m not gonna share the full links to their supposed profiles, no reason to share highly suspicious profile links. I ain’t about to fuck around and find out.
