And there less likely I would lay my hand near it.
I don’t think an induction stove is what you think it is…

162·2 months agoThe model ‘blackmailed’ the person because they provided it with a prompt asking it to pretend to blackmail them. Gee, I wonder what they expected.
Have not heard the one about cancelling active alerts, but I doubt it’s any less bullshit. Got a source about it?
Edit: Here’s a deep dive into why those claims are BS: https://www.aipanic.news/p/ai-blackmail-fact-checking-a-misleading

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Reddit to lemmy reposterEnglish
2·2 months agoFYI, there’s many bot accounts already reposting stuff. There was an entire instance previously dedicated to it, though I think it shut down at some point. It was not popular, most people blocked the accounts / instances and they just clogged up the feed for newcomers due to the lack of engagement.

Electric Vehicles@slrpnk.net•Never Forget: When The Power Went Out, The Ford F-150 Lightning Saved The Day
51·2 months agoWhen a hurricane took power out at a Florida veterinary clinic last year, the Lightning’s giant battery powered it back up. After an elderly man was stranded in California because his electric wheelchair’s battery ran out, a Lightning made it operational again. And during the devastating Kentucky floods in 2022, Ford deployed two Lightnings as mobile generators to support cleanup efforts.

Linux@programming.dev•Pornhub saw a 22.4% increase in Linux traffic over 2025
34·3 months agoA percentage increase is a relative increase. The thing you’re thinking of would be described as “percentage points”.
Yes, as I pointed out it is technically correct. Just a misleading first impression.

Linux@programming.dev•Pornhub saw a 22.4% increase in Linux traffic over 2025
52·3 months agoSure! As is currently written, it gives the first impression (to me, at least) that the traffic share of Linux has jumped from x% to (x+22)%. Now I understand that this is subjective, but I believe that’s how many people would read it at first glance as well.
Again, there’s nothing technically inaccurate about it, but the 22% number there is imo distracting and tends to lead to misunderstandings. I would personally write it as “Pornhub sees Linux traffic share increase from 5% to 6% (22.4% increase) over 2025”

Linux@programming.dev•Pornhub saw a 22.4% increase in Linux traffic over 2025
1915·3 months ago22.4% of 5% base, so in actuality a 1% increase. While the title is technically accurate, it’s very misleading.
