I used to run a Proxmox cluster, then someone gave me a Synology NAS. Now it’s rare that I spin up Proxmox and instead use a mix of VMs, containers and Synology/Synocommunity apps.
ddh@lemmy.sdf.orgto Fediverse@lemmy.world•is there is any Lemmy server that care about privacy(does not require email), Does not impose limits on community posts like my current instance and does not have high amount of restrictions?English1·13 days agoWhat security issue do you imagine arises from creating a Gmail account that receives a single Lemmy verification before the account is deleted?
ddh@lemmy.sdf.orgto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•how are my fellow peeps hosting your music collection these days?English9·13 days agoAll my music is stored in a folder on my NAS, broken down by artist, release. It can be accessed via SMB, SFTP, Jellyfin and Plex. From there I stream to what ever device I’m using. Wireguard, Tailscale or Plex is required to stream outside my home. Navidrome sounds interesting.

It even runs on my potato server
No more wary than, say, CriticalBadger or SuccessfulCrab45. Some of the more obvious bots have very normal-looking names.
We’re talking about choosing who to financially support. Catloaf doesn’t want to knowingly send money to support tankies. I’m not sure what your nazi baker comment was supposed to communicate, but I wouldn’t patronise a nazi bakery. Are you saying you would? It’s obvious that nobody knows the provenance of everything they buy, but only you are bringing that up and I don’t see the relevance.
If you knowingly patronise a nazi bakery, that’s fine?

Trump will hopefully take the old school dems over the cliff with him. There’s a glimmer of hope in NYC.
