Banning trawling is a good start.
Maybe we can increase freshwater aquaponics and decrease net fishing.

They kind of go hand in hand, don’t they?
You don’t even have to understand federation to use lemmy. Just pick a big server and use lemmy like you would reddit and it works fine.
That’s why the work you and a couple other lemmings do is so important.
I’ve barely ever used twitter but have like 4 accounts to my name over the past 15 years. I kept on forgetting I had already made an account.
Now imagine all the alts and bots and specific accounts people create for projects. Probably much less than 2.8 billion humans have created a twitter account. But 2.8 billion accounts have been created.
That doesn’t include images. Images are stored on wikimedia commons, which is about 600 TB.
Wow, rare to run into someone ME aware in the wild. Thanks for understanding ❤️
Our disease has quite a bit less functioning than MS as measured on bell spectrum.
And one of the main symptoms are cognitive processing issues. It’s to the point where some more severe folk can struggle putting sentences together.
Man I fucking miss being mobile. I’ve been bedridden for two years now and I miss the outside beauty so much.
I get by by watching nature documentaries lol.
(I was backcountry skiier and loved mountaineering so the contrast hits hard lol)
Lets you block a whole instance including users.
I have many people in my disability support groups I recommended lemmy too and they were unable to use it.
(Our disability comes with severe cognitive problems and reduced energy, and trying to sign up was too much)
I proudly still use a super specialised old school online forum and it works great for those purposes.
I love this
I agree it is really annoying (the duplication issue). Have devs thought of a solution?. You can manually sort of merge by adding multiple ISBN’s together but it isn’t a proper workaround.
Would be better to have multiple instances of the same book possibly, but the reviews get merged?

I’m already taken, sorry Nicole.
If that were true in general, wikipedia would not bother blocking IPs.
IP address is often enough to link data to a profile for data brokers. And Lemmy has so much valuable data, not only in posts or comments, but upvotes and downvotes etc. This could be someone making bank of selling data.
[Though other people investigating the url seem to be pretty sure the images don’t have a per user url, so this theory probably doesn’t hold]
I love how different people respond to these threads every time. Really helps me discover cool comms.
