I’d say there’s also some corners of Lemmy that feel like the slightest provocation leads to an absolute dog pile of people being super angry looking for a fight.

That aspect blows but it’s usually helped by making sure that the instance your account is on is federated (or specifically NOT federated) with specific other instances.

And yeah after my initial break from Reddit it definitely feels more insufferable over there.

This is also one of my alts, I’ve a few but none are used as much as this one by a long shot.

I think since coming over here I’ve done like 2 dozen comments and a handful of posts (on Reddit), but considering I used to post and comment as much as I do here but over there I’d say that’s a lot of progress.

I’ve done over 3k comments and over 3 hundred posts here since joining in June of 2023.

Honestly though pulling more away from social media is good for my mental health. And making the experience more abrasive so it’s less of a passive thing is good.

In terms of sorting the “tankie triad” least bad to worst though it’s definitely: ML, Grad, then HexBear. At least I sometimes have decent interactions with people from ML, can’t say the same about the other 2 though.

I’ll still check sometimes on Reddit when I’m at my desk if I feel like it and I’ve got time, so like barely anymore.

When 3rd party apps died I moved here.

After them saying that if you upvote enough banned content you’ll get banned, I’m just waiting to catch ban over there.

Hell I know 2 aromantic people and they both had different ways of seeing it and expressing it but the one thing they had in common about it was saying that it sucked having to explain it each time.

Like I’m biromantic and demisexual, which everyone seems to have questions about IRL so usually I just leave it at “I’m Bi”. But a brief explanation: I’m romantically attracted to a lot of people but sexual attraction isn’t something that pops into my mind quickly, typically. In general I have to get to know people a bit before my brain basically goes “You know…” In a sexual way. But I’ll much sooner be like “Damn I wonder what kind of flowers they like?”.
