I mean I don’t care about terminology. I just need something to describe doing something because its seems to be better for biosphere of the planet.

I still feel like this kind of thing should be able to be done with a usb flash drive. Like an encrypted drive that has something like an ssh key in it or such. I really hate there is not something more agnostic for this type of purpose.
Everyone is talking about big brother but this is about getting more signups to X
I have a feeling a dictatorship will fix little loopholes like that.
can you keep your employer from deducting it?
I love how the graphs overlap up to our current time but it optimistically looks for it to diverge starting basically just now but we won’t really be able to tell till like 2050 once we have enough of a significant deviation to maybe see we are on a better track. We have done stuff but I would not call it a lot. I would call it rather minimal.
I mean the original series. Yeah its dated but so great. I liked enterprise personally. I was turned off by discoveries first season but I stuck with it and liked the second one. Lower decks cartoon is hilarious. I have not watched any more seasons fo discovery or any other recent content though.
yeah its funny because the way I understand it the holodeck uses a compination of holgrams, tractor beam type thing, and replicator tech. Feels like in their situation a competent engineer could get it utilized for the more important just replication or heck they are always rerouting power. they can’t do that???
I thought the same. It helps to watch the first episode of the next generation. Will talks to wesely about it and its a rare thing at that time and sounds like it takes a lot of resources. Later episodes the holodeck using a lot of power comes up. People have to sign up for them and I took it there is no point in making more holodeck rooms than is prudent for the amount of power they draw just for leisure (mostly) activities. All the rooms have replicators but if someone was running it constantly it would become quite the power drain and we see in voyager that with no source of resupply have to ration replicators (although curiously I don’t recall them rationing the holodecks, but maybe they did). As far as discovery in the future you see the energy issues and they use that programmable matter which I think is supposed to be more energy efficient.
Id like to see non for profits hosting servers for their members. fandom conventions, maker spaces, etc. It would also make sense for them to host communities around what they do. scifi literature, games, 3d printing, etc.
they seem to be updateable. are you sure about that?
Im not sure. I do know I have had to go into the image and change files in the tree before but I don’t really remember why.
yeah thats what this is about. appimage portability.
thats what makes them so portable. im not sure about nowadays but you could just move the app to another machine and you where all set.
oh to bad. I thought it was more akin to an apple program.
I know i have taken a firefox and launched it on another host and it seemed to have kept the settings I changed on the first machine. Im still way early in testing.
I was under the impression that appimage saved all configs inside its image and did not need anything exteranl configured??? I hope to use it to make it easier to upgrade and change my machines and distros.
Is the server just for you? If so connect to it and pretty much use it as your work machine.
I think it could be setup to allow limited access although im not really sure about tamper resistance. I just don’t like these things to be cheaper and not limited to particular companies or such.
