OS: Unraid

It’s primarily NAS software, with a form of software raid functionality built in.
I like it mainly because it works well and the GUI makes is very easy to use and work with.

On top of that you can run VMs and docker containers, so it is very versatile as well.

I use it to host the following services on my network:

• Nextcloud
• Jellyfin
• CUPS

It costs a bit of money up-front, but for me it was well-worth the investment.

I once left my action cam on a table for five minutes unattended. When I was reviewing the footage later that day I was surprised with a lovely video by some people who sat down at that table.

That surprise made my day

My server has also not been liking the heat over the past month

Though in my case it’s because drive 3 is sitting in a slot that is possibly not getting enough airflow. It’s consistently running a bit hotter than the other drives in the system.

I really should get around to moving it to a different slot.

Get yourself some anti-histamines like cetrizine. It works wonders for me.

Wrong… it’s April already

Imo it’s already difficult enough to convince friends and family to use Signal. Delta Chat would be even more difficult to pull off.

Personally I stopped using Facebook years ago, but I kept the account around for my grandma’s sake.
She has since stopped using the computer all together, so I took that opportunity to finally delete my account.

I do still use Whatsapp though… I would prefer if I didn’t have to use it, but there is no real way around it in the Netherlands.

And the moment you get rid of it, that’s when you encounter a situation where you really could have used a cardboard box.
