The US gives subsidies to its own car manufacturing sector as well, the difference is that China with its cheap labor can use subsidies to do dumping in other markets in order to shut down their industry. What happens once China has the monopoly on a sector?

Safety standards aren’t the same in Europe and North America and Europe is less restrictive on very small vehicles.
