Unironically would love a Mirror Universe movie where the Mirror Terrans get their shit rocked by Starfleet.
The issue is power transmission. Wireless transmission has repeatedly been shown to be highly energy intensive and prone to severe loss the further you’re sending it, plus you still have to have a way to pick it up and convert it to electricity at a useful rate on the ground.
If you have a “solution” with “if we can solve the other parts of the problem”, you do not have a solution.

Even into the later series, people had to fight to do interesting things with it. IIRC the network was skittish about Voyager because nobody would possibly be interested in a scifi show with a female lead.

I think we all learned from Seto Kaiba that every problem can be solved with Blue Eyes. If it doesn’t get solved by one, you just haven’t used enough Blue Eyes.

Because they think if they burn down society they’ll be the ones that get to rule over the ashes.
They actually already do. Many grocery stores, when tossing food, require it to be made inedible - bleach or turpentine or something else horrifyingly bad to ingest and strong-smelling gets dumped on it.

They just did this in Albuquerque. 71 Guard soldiers are there to “assist” police - ostensibly, they’re simply there to “free up” police from the mundanity of things like traffic accidents, wellness checks, etc, so they can “focus on crime”.
Overtly, this is slow-rolling the idea of using armed forces to occupy cities on home soil.

You forgot the part where he bundled his whole family into a 4hr roadtrip to chainsaw the head off a dead beached whale. Then rode back with the whale head strapped to the roof with the windows down.

For those who don’t want to potentially kill people with flying saw blade pieces, look up the resistance to the Mountain Valley pipeline. It costs a TON to get this heavy equipment into position and build roads to get the felled trees OUT. Even just establishing a bunch of treesits (or supporting those treesits) in the areas where they’re building roads or planning to log can be incredibly expensive and disruptive to the planned project - and hurt the profit line, which is all that matters.

There’s another episode in VOY where the Hirogen force Harry to build basically 3/4 of the ship into a massive set of holodecks. It’s mentioned multiple times that this is a MASSIVE power drain (this may be due to the smaller warp core of the ship, though).

This particular episode owes its life to Ira and Avery Brooks, from what I understand. The writer’s room and studio execs wanted it to be a trite little episode featuring Benny just trying to write the stories of Deep Space Nine and get them published. Avery said “hell no we’re doing an episode in the 50s with a black man, it really needs to be uncomfortable because that’s what Star Trek does best”.

Remember, one of the first things she did when she got on the ship was get into an argument with the chief engineer and break his fucking nose.

Actually, the trains aren’t moving faster. I don’t think there’s a single significant span of passenger rail rated for more than 60mph in the US.
The last thing I’d trust to suspend from is a steel pipe in an “abandoned area”. Last thing you need is to figure out the inside is “oops all rust” and only the outer 1/16" is actual bare steel.
