You could throw in “elderly” as well for the trifecta. Hospitals are notorious for not approaching their concerns as urgent because there’s this expectation that they’re unwell and just going to be in and out of the hospital anyway.

Plus, if there’s any confusion/dementia, they aren’t the best at advocating for themselves.

I’ve seen this one before. I think the original creator of this must make memes for both.

I go back and forth. Sometimes I like seeing the “here’s how things could be if we were all incredibly competent and reasonable” and sometimes I like seeing the more realistic struggle.

Well I didn’t expect to actually find an answer, but apparently the artist regularly includes little objects like that in his comics. The number next to his signature is supposed to indicate how many there are to find.
