A Finn from a Finland.
I have the same username on, sopuli.xyz, anarchist.nexus, social.porotokka.net, piipitin.fi, piefed.social, lemmy.world, pixl.fi, divergent.1m2lab.engineer, piefed.ee, and bsky.app. Of those the ones on piipitin.fi and piefed.europe.pub are my main alts, and I use the ones on kbin.melroy.org and anarchist.nexus relatively often.

So, less than a square metre of our planet’s surface is radiating enough energy to power a 4W led bulb? Not bad, actually!

What a weird way of writing a news article!
overcome days with insufficient sunlight by switching to wind power generation to produce electricity.
So, they basically turn on the wind when there is no sunlight? And if there is enough sunlight, they don’t need it to be windy, so the wind is not kept on?!
Obviously the idea is that the reader figures out that this is just North Koreans saying North Korean things. But yes, solar power is nice because you can rely on it. And it makes sense for a country in a situation such that of North Korea.

You probably have already seen this post, but as it’s not mentioned under this post nor have you commented under that other post, I’ll link it here: https://slrpnk.net/post/26927946
In other words:
There is an actual need for an app that:
There’s a mention of something called “XOWS” under that post, but also that it doesn’t have most of the features required and is apparently just a program that looks good and does barely anything.
And of course, the four demands above are a huge task to implement in one client. But, apparently nobody has tried yet. Once you get the basics of that program up and running, you can give it its own little nook in Codeberg and get other people to join help you in the development. It would definitely be useful if you could take on the task!
(What language are you planning to use, BTW? :) )
It is also more difficult connecting that data to your person.
