Yes, but to be fair, the question was when someone would be booked for doing it, not when someone would break the law.

Wanna lick boot a little harder there?
Posie Parker’s anti-trans rally, March 18, 2023. Nazi’s threw the salute, the cops protected them, and while they did so they beat and pepper-sprayed a number of LGBTQ+ counter-protesters. VicPol’s actions were condemned, and a big part of why the salute was outlawed in this state.
February 4, 2024, protesters douse VicPol members with paint at the Midsumma Pride March. VicPol comes out labelling them as “thugs” despite the fact that protests have occurred for over a decade against their participation.
One year later, Midsumma issues a directive banning wearing of uniforms by marching members of the emergency services. VicPol withdraws, citing organisers denying them from having armed support/security.
I can keep going if you would like more dates and references. We could discuss other Australian events, like the first Mardi Gras. Or international events, like the Stonewall Riots. Suffice it to say that police, including VicPol, have been suppressing the freedom and rights of LGBTQ+ people the world over for a very long time. Unless you’re a member of the community, which I suspect you’re not, you couldn’t possibly understand the depth of that. A few token actions to try and counter that, does not make the apple any less rotten.
Tough call. My heart wants to say July 1, 2026. But my head says pawbably never because VicPol have some serious anti-LGBTQ+ issues.
Yeah it’s also not many for me. Kevin Spacey is another one for me, mainly because he came out as gay and tried to accuse his (often also gay) victims of homophobia. The third one for me is something hyper-local, a band where the lead singer was accused of sexual assault by an overwhelming number of people in the span of 24hrs, where the singer claimed it was transphobia even though most (all?) of her accusers were queer themselves. I just feel extra gross about that because when the first person accused her I did immediately want to defend her because of being a trans woman. But then within the space of the next 24 hours three more unrelated people publicly accused her as well.
We’ve got these in Aus, I’m not far from one actually :3
I’m a night owl and my goal for sleep is 2-2:30am. I’d only just be taking my sleeping meds at this time 🤭
DDR5 ECC isn’t as powerful as real ECC. It only requires 8 extra bits for every 64 bits of data, real ECC requires 16 bits: https://www.faceofit.com/ddr5-ecc-vs-regular-ecc-ram/
Because most people installing an OS on a device are doing it for themselves? I do think they should label the OEM edition as “Install for Family & Friends” as well though.
They’ve already done it all, haven’t they? They’re kind of the poster child everyone else is playing catchup with.
I think you’re missing the other commenters point, they were sarcastically noting that other countries have already gotten ideas.
Sure, and they’ll be pirating it, a net benefit if it reduces Microsoft’s monopoly.
I saw one on another article here that was just a stock image of some penguins, I rather liked that.
I’d actually wager that most of the US looks like that.
I mean yeah, it’s an investigative journalist piece that took several years of interviews and work. I feel like shorter pieces that fail to address the nuance of a topic is a big part of why we’re in this mess with trans healthcare in the first place.
It also just flies in the face of open-source, to use what was likely a closed-source image genAI to produce the image.
There are plenty of already existing images for this they could reuse. For example:
I wasn’t able to send much, but I hope that helps a little 💜
She did post about a month ago, but there is a mod from old 196 that says she was verified with a video and some random codes: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/13156782
Yes but apt-get isn’t a seperate package from apt, just a seperate command. All of the apt-* commands are part of the same package, which is now Apt-3.0. This isn’t really what the user above you was asking.
I’d argue that large parts of Lower Decks is as well honestly. Especially episodes where the main characters are busy with ship duties while the senior officers are off doing typical Star Trek plot stuff.
