ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•The way of ~~the monk~~ ADHD/social anxietyEnglish
1·5 months agoit’s either:
- losing
- loosening
no other choice.
“loosing” can only be used immediately before “the dogs of war”.
even in that case, usage of -ing form is poor grammar which takes away potential choices of phrasing and reduces possibilities for creativity.

ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What is everyone's opinion on how ADHD affects people's desire to have kids?English
4·6 months agoother than paddling, same. exactly.
i know that even if i could manage myself well enough to be a good parent, other kids and adults absolutely cannot be trusted to treat my child humanely, whether my child is ND or not.
society continues proving this point every single day…
this “infographic” is a bit too straightforward for me. no setup & punchline, just a line.
i can relate to the content. just can’t laugh.
yes i know critiquing the comedy level may be considered off-topic. but off-topic is always on topic for us. 🤣
same
but i always wondered, if my few “friends” actually think of me as a friend, why do they never initiate contact outside of school or work…
rsd & depression followed…

ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Anyone else hating Shorts (the videos, not the pants or financial instruments)?English
19·7 months agoi fucking hate short videos. it’s the most vacuous thing invented thus far.
i literally block or dim the thumbnails with ublock origin.
then again i also hate long videos with slow talking and tons of useless and filler segments such as:
- intro montage
- recap
- sponsor product ad
- channel subscription begging
- alternate channel subscription begging
- off topic rambling/ranting
- outro montage
(thank you ❤️Freetube & ❤️Sponsorblock)
bonding with a total stranger is extrovert supremacy.
if i can be in the room with an existing friend, I’d do it.
but i would guess that invalidates the test.
I’m also really really really good at “keeping” secrets…

ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Does this represent your weekend?English
2·7 months agothanks for the eBay recommendation. unfortunately my financial anxiety is much much much more easily triggered than that. I’m working in myself for now.
i do plan to start using docker if i ever get started on projects again.

3·7 months agoi wish i could get my home lab efforts (re)started. the memory of corrupted sd cards and pi hole config mistakes is debilitating…
not to mention financial anxiety about possibly needing replacement components regularly…

22·8 months agoIMO this and Material File Manager are currently the best for android
however, i think they all need improvement. such as:
- long press popup context menu (for desktop right-click style menu),
- top-bottom multi pane view,
- file metadata/tag editing
- optional image/video preview pane (bottom half of screen)

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Ibis-Wiki (A federated encyclopaedia)English
4·8 months agoAgree.
I also think a federated wiki is a great idea.
I think the way to do that is: instead of having separate realities/universes linked together by search and federation, try to unite those universes into a shared multiverse, to the greatest possible.
In other words
- ❌ merely give all federated users access to the same articles
- ✅ automatically link and embed similar articles into each other by default (collapsed, but expandable). similarity can be determined by authors’/contributors’ intentional citations, by instance owners’ filter rules, by LLM, etc.
of course, there may be attempts to obfuscate relatedness, astroturfing, brigading, whatnot. I wonder if its possible to visualize voting results for each duplicated/linked article along with the originating instance. I think this would function as a pseudo version of ‘community fact-checking’. Maybe a better name would be ‘reality-checking’ or ‘sanity-checking’ or whatever.
