71·26 days agoThat’s for commercial use. There are thousands upon thousands of cameras all over, there is nothing illegal recording you in public. Look at Teslas, cameras on all sides, I’ve got a dash cam front and rear. Nothing you can do about it in america, it’s protected by the first amendment in public.
On private property it’s a different story, but you cant trespass someone’s eyes, if they can see it, they can record it. Think of how many ring door cameras capture people daily.
Lmao. Press credentials are for specific events, almost always on private property. It’s just a badge to people know what/who you are. In public any joe can record.

21·26 days agoYou mentioned public, I was just clearing it up. These threads always get comments about recording in public, which isn’t illegal in the slightest. But you can still piss off the wrong person.

113·27 days agoRecording in public isn’t the issue, there is no expectation of privacy.
Starting shit for reactions and sneaking pics like upskirts or of kids is where people are going to get upset and fuck you up.

Privacy@programming.dev•Browser Fingerprinting And Why VPNs Won’t Make You AnonymousEnglish
21·1 month agoI don’t do enough illegal shit to be a problem. I block 99% of ads, etc. if they really wanted me, my license plate is tracked all the time via cameras. If they really wanted me, come get me. You have to find the threshold that is acceptable to you, nothing is 100% secure without a LOT of preparation and work, which I just don’t care enough about.
I’m not out here hiding bodies, there are larger issues/people to worry about.

Privacy@programming.dev•Browser Fingerprinting And Why VPNs Won’t Make You AnonymousEnglish
11·1 month agoI reserve a browser, like brave or edge, to use when I’m on the VPN. No plugins, no password manager, plain Jane vanilla browser + VPN, so they’re “fingerprinting” something I don’t use. Hard to compare when literally nothing matches.
Good luck.
Plus my VPN location changes often. Sometimes I use TOR browser on VPN (not sure it helps) if I’m wading through a very gray area.
Local pihole and ublock origin (on Firefox) alone seems to make my phone “unique” on its own.

65·2 months agoTo be fair, with the amount of shit bombarded in your face with a dozen devices, everything fighting for your attention including ads on your vehicle infotainment, there is a zero chance that most people havent developed some sort of ADHD, whether clinically diagnosed or not. Disorders evolved also.
Try sitting in a room for 10-15 minutes and do absolutely nothing, just sit with your thoughts. I’m willing to bet most people can’t.

2·7 months agoNot sure why you’re downvote, you’re absolutely right. People scan for open ports all day long and will eventually find your shit and try to break in. In my work environment, I see thousands of login attempts daily on brand new accounts, just because something discovered they exist and want to check it out.

I made my own, but normal size to fit a specific space in my closet.
