Nah it should be a tall column of small ones stacked on top of each other, because if one project fails its enough to topple the whole thing.

Some phones do still work without, but i think most dont.

some devices will bypass the battery when permanently plugged in. I have an old phone i use as a syncthing node and i log the battery current on it. It never actually gets used by the phone, it only suffers from some very slight internal discharge.

has me reconsidering my use of syncthing
This is about a third party piece of software that isnt directly related to syncthing. The devs of syncthing have however been recommending syncthing-fork as their choice for android, so it definitely needs clearing up.

It really fucks with your understanding of reality doesnt it.

Realistically dad still voted for trump tho.

Are you just trolling at this point? Yes there are browser engines for cli use, but those are for headless stuff like bots/scripts. How would a cli be able to render a full html site?

Thats like asking whether you can run without legs. A web application is a program made to be run in a web browser. There are applications that ship with their own custom browser engine so it doesnt look like a web browser, but its still technically being run by a web browser. Unless microsoft made a standalone version of this application, it wont be possible to run it outside some sort of web browser.

You cant run a web application without a browser. But linux has browsers so yes it will work the same as on windows.

I mean the summit is taking place on their stolen and destroyed land. If life was fair everyone attending the summit would have been beaten and kicked until they left the area.

This info actually dropped months ago but it didnt get much mainstream coverage i think.

Always root if in doubt. Even that is not enough sometimes, but it usually is.

1:1 calls are pretty straightforward to implement with webrtc. Nice to see they are doing it.

If you wanna see if a server supports it just put in your servers URL into this handy matrix server tester.
If the server has something related to “livekit” in the .well-known section then its most likely supported.
https://federationtester.mtrnord.blog/?serverName=matrix.org#server-wellknown

So far only Element Web/Desktop and ElementX have implemented the current gen call system. It also needs to be supported server side so it only works if you are on a homeserver that has set up element-call. (Many have at this point, but far from all)
In Element X its the only available call system, in the desktop version you need to click on the video/camera icon and select “Element Call” to use it.
If you just wanna try it out standalone (the client just embeds this same UI) you can do so here. https://call.element.io/
This systems is super smart and can distribute the load across multiple homeservers when you have large calls with like 100+ participants.

I used it years ago and it worked quite well even back then. If you just need a messenger then its not bad at all imo. I dont know how it scales when running a server for 10000+ users (every message is a new email so the load is probably a lot higher than for a normal email server), but its probably fine.
The main reason why i dont use it over matrix is the very mature VOIP stack that Element/Matrix is using. I basically completely replaced classic phone calling and other video conferencing stuff with matrix.

Gnome is so bad it hurts. I was reading a blog post by factorios linux dev earlier.
Once Wayland support was implemented, I received a bug report that the window was missing a titlebar and close buttons (called “window decorations”) when running on GNOME. Most desktop environments will allow windows to supply their own decorations if they wish but will provide a default implementation on the server side as an alternative. GNOME, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that all clients must provide their own decorations, and if a client does not, they will simply be missing. I disagree with this decision; Factorio does not need to provide decorations on any other platform, nay, on any other desktop environment, but GNOME can (ab)use its popularity to force programs to conform to its idiosyncrasies or be left behind

As a reminder. They cut down huge parts of the amazon rainforest just for this event. They built a 4 lane road right through peoples farm land, while completely ignoring the people using and living in the area. They basically cut a community in half. Hopes for action my ass.
No :)
Idk maybe, but it might be interesting for non game applications like AR apps and such
