Only way it could be ‘stolen valor’ is if you’re a trans/queerphobe, & that’d just be called ‘lying’ & ‘a dick move’. Just do what feels right.

I do have a few alternatives though:

If you want to be clear you’re an ally, there are ally variants, though I wouldn’t recommend going that route unless you have a queer friend/loved one who’s happy to call you an ally before doing so. Some cis people claim to be ally’s & then continue to buy jk Rowling trash or be weird about pronouns & ‘dude’. Don’t want to muddy the waters.

Otherwise, you could just get something like the progress pride flag if you don’t feel like being specific.

    Edit: misspelled ‘variants’

I’m not finding anything with this search term. Do you have more information?

      Thank you for the tips.

Some trans feminine people don’t care for being called dude or variations of the same. Trans people in general tend to have complicated feelings about how others refer to them. Others don’t care one way or the other. If you’re not sure, just ask. If you slip up then correct yourself & move on. Not much to it. This advice should also apply to pronoun stuff.

Some transphobes like to act like there’s a whole complicated song & dance you gotta do so the scary trans people won’t be triggered if you talk to them or whatever. Its really not like that, all ya gotta do is ask & be respectful.
