this place is a vastly worse experience in every way,
Lemmy allows me to upload pictures into comments – reddit doesn’t do that. To put an image into a comment on reddit, you have to host the image elsewhere first.
That’s one tangible, objective way Lemmy is better than reddit.
this place is a vastly worse experience in every way
Do not treat what’s subjective as if it was objective.
If it’s worse for you, you’re certainly entitled to your opinion. Perhaps it’s due to issues that can be solved, perhaps it’s some trade-off, who knows.
But if anyone here would claim “it’s warse 4 erryone else lol lmao”, then I’ll call it bullshit, because at least some people like it better than Reddit. Like Die4Ever (see his comment). Or me*.
*regardless of ideological or philosophical matters, I like:
how there’s a larger ratio of decent people vs. (assumptive, bad-jacketing, sealioning, illiterate-but-still-screeching) waste here. In Reddit you can’t say “I like apples” without at least one assumer claiming you hate bananas, dammit.
the [browser] interface is frankly better-looking IMO, once I got used to it.
To answer the question posed in the title: this place is a vastly worse experience in every way, beyond ideology and philosophical feelz.
IDK I like Lemmy more than Reddit. And on a phone, Lemmy with a 3rd party app is vastly better
But I’d be interested to hear your specific ideas for improvements (not complaints, solutions)
