    The problem isn’t that its not definitionally a meme but that people are jumping the gun on calling anything they post a “meme”.

    If you post an animation and call it a “meme” you are being presumptuous that it’ll spread sufficiently to be considered memetic in the first place. Its like saying “You will all share this animation.” in the title.

    Usually, people don’t title their image macros “meme” though they may later refer to them as memes if they have successfully spread/are shared.

      Animation memes are where there’s a specific song and/or animation track that is being spread around and the animators will make a cartoon of a character doing that. An example is the sad cat dance meme.

      Yeah the true definition of meme was lost 20 years ago. It just means an easily digestable snippet posted publicly now…

    “Reanimation” is right there. Or “aniremix”, or even just “Animeme”. Frankly I’m disappointed it’s only every tagged as an “animation meme”
