Here’s hoping this comes to the US. I’ve already had one ICCU failure. Now there’s worry that it can happen at any time.

I’d like my new car to be more reliable than a fifteen year old ICE car.

I dont understand how they haven’t been able to truly and fully fix this yet. What is so wrong that its still happening even in new models that is so hard to fix???

might be fixed? doesn’t apply after 2024 models

For Hyundai, the extended warranty applies to Hyundai Ioniq 5 models built up to April 2024 and Hyundai Ioniq 6 units produced until September 2024. “All Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 vehicles manufactured after April 2024 (Ioniq 5) and September 2024 (Ioniq 6) are already equipped with an ICCU featuring an optimised design,” Hyundai Deutschland said in a statement.

At Kia, the measure covers eligible pre-facelift versions of the Kia EV6 and EV6 GT built before 15 June 2024, for which the company is also granting an extended ICCU warranty.

People are still saying the problem exists on newer models.

Notice how they say “optimized design” and not a fixed design

There may well be another recall for future versions still. They just haven’t extended it to newer versions yet as they’re still under normal warranty.

Hyundai claims it’s about 1% of vehicles, so maybe the “optimized” ones are 0.8% or something if it’s even true.
