Agreed, as I’ve oddly been assigned many throughout my life without intended influence. But what of one who never had a name in the beginning, but rather a simple designation? And the anxiety of thinking they’d accepted the wrong one, what then?
The same way everyone else usually gets their names, someone that cares for them gives them a name. In this case they can get to choose the person, but that’s all.
The process with nicknames are similar but the reasons for the name of choice are completely different.
