Shatner speak: It, makes him seem, more… human
TOS s2e2 “Who Mourns for Adonais?”
There was a TNG episode … I think it’s the one with the girl Q , (true Q? S6E6) where the Troi is talking to the girl about what being human means and the flaws are OK while she eats cake, and has a giant glob of it left around her mouth. We were watching it in HD on a huge projector or big TV and I pointed it out and laughed my ass off at it. For some reason it stuck with my wife and thinks about that scene every time she thinks about Troi
I wanted to grab a screenshot of that, but I am just not finding it.
In S6E6 “True Q”, there is the scene with Troi, Crusher, and the Q girl in Ten Forward. They are talking about her Q training. Troi has some dark food on her plate, but nothing on her face.
In S5E22 “Imaginary Friend” (another episode centering around a young girl), Troi is in Ten Forward and notably not actually eating her chocolate cake when Guinan comes in and they talk about imaginary friends. As such, she has nothing on her face.
Now I really wanna know what scene it’s from.

In S7E11 “Parallels”, Troi is actually eating a cake with chocolate frosting during Worf’s birthday party or whatever. But I am not seeing anything on her face.
In S5E6 “The Game” (which also prominently involves a young girl, Wesley’s friend), Troi eats a chocolate sundae in Ten Forward while recounting her ritual around the dish. Though again, her face is clean.
So, I was wrong, in that it was not cake. I am re watching it in a lower defiition, but the white blob on Troi’s upper lip is what I think the food was. I’m not sure if it actually is food, but it is a miscolouration. If you have a HD-er version, it’s at the 30 min mark when Crusher, Qgirl and Troi are in Ten Forward, before Riker shows up.
It disappears in subsequent shots.

It does look like some light shining off the table onto her lips
In 1080p here, it looks like just a glare from her shiny lipstick.

Furthermore, she was never shown actually putting any food to her mouth in this scene. Knowing how actors tend to avoid actually eating during a shot in which their character eats food, I would be surprised to find out that this actor had residual food on their face when the scene did not require them to actually put food near their face at all.

Puzzling, though I appreciate your persistence.
Watch the original Red Dawn for an epic Patrick Swayze snot bubble.
It’s been too long since last I watched that.

A little prank from his uncle, Poseidon.
