I haven’t watched DS9 as much as the other series, but superficially this does sound familiar. Tbh the static DS9 setting never appealed to me that much - my favorite episodes are when they go on missions in the Defiant.
While I’m on the subject, one thing that really disappointed me was in “Way of the Warrior” when the Klingons boarded the station to take it over. I totally assumed they would succeed, and was looking forward to seeing how the feds would take it back. But the Klingon raiding party got their asses kicked in like 8 seconds. I mean srsly - did the writers even watch Star Trek? A crack squad of the galaxy’s master warriors couldn’t take over a glorified office building? Truly disappointing.
