When that happened to be back in HS, I waited until the ‘bullies’ were all close by… Got hand on a chair and broke it at someone’s back
Dude was sent to the hospital, I kicked the principal door open, and dragged him to the classroom for the teacher to tell what had happened
Guess who apologized for not listening to me? It’s fucked, but if all else fails, take the “stand up for yourself” to the absolute literal and hit like it’s life or death.
It was the only way I had peace in school. And not by lack of trying other ways, even trying to talk to the bullies parents didn’t solved.
Am I proud? Nope. Did it solved? Yes. Was I out without consequences? Absolutely no, I got a whole month of suspension and nearly got expelled from the school.
I was just pissed off enough and yelled enough to get the principal to listen that it was on them that I broke that fuck in half.

Agreed it should never have to come to violence, but it seems like that was the only way to resolve the issue.
