On my first watch of TNG I was in my mid teens and kinda disliked Pulaski (MB because of the discontinuity, IDK).

Now I’m in early 20s and doing my first rewatch and I really wish they had kept Pulaski as a character. She has far more personality, has her opinions and stands by them (is however open to being wrong and challenging her prejudices; e.g. Data and her developing friendship with him).
I feel like we got far more flavour and development out of Pulaski in one season than 6 seasons of Crusher 💀

(Disclaimer: I’m at S02 with my rewatch, so my picture of Doctor Crusher is based on memory)

She was needlessly antagonistic. They tried to remake Bone’s demeanor but it didn’t land and I think it didn’t match the show’s style.

*Pulaski. As much as it might’ve pleased Rick Berman, casting Polanski would’ve made it a very different show.

I feel the same way. Growing up with her I was confused where Crusher went and didn’t get her at all. But rewatching the episodes in order she was really cool. I was bummed out when they got Crusher back.

I d’know, doesn’t bones give you a comfy chair and a glass of whiskey, before saying he doesn’t care?
