      Still experimenting with the best way of doing it, it’s an incredibly weird material because you can’t put knots in it (it risks damaging the fibers and it stops light from getting past the knot) so you have to get really creative with how you weave it. Also it requires a pretty horkin’ power bank (12v for the ones I have) and the light sources get scaldingly hot after a little bit (oh nooo, I have to be aware of my posture constantly to keep them from burning me, oh noooooo). But oh my god the effect is so cool.

      If you do try it out, please please keep me updated on how it goes, collaboration in kink is the best way to learn with a new material like this!

          Yeah, it’s unfortunately all-too-common. Kink tends to be (understandably) pretty insular/private so fostering a community on a public forum, especially when the content is intrinsically wankfodder like bdsm so often is, can be real difficult.

          (Sorry, sick brain: the power supply setup?)

            Yeah, one of the best things my mentors taught me in the community was how to ignore and troll the people looking for wankfodder in discussions (I say while discussing in a wankfodder space).

            And I’ve never done anything with fiber optics so the whole deal

              Here’s the electrical harness I’m using: The fiber is side-firing PMMA optical fiber with 12v automotive LEDs sized for the fiber (I think what I have is 4mm), the power bank is a generic 12v LION battery pack off amazon.

              Make sure you a power pack that can provide enough mAh to keep up with your LEDs since you’ll need to be running two of them. The light attenuation along the fiber means they can be about 5m long at maximum before they get too dim. I really wanna pick up some Fibrance to mess around with, apparently that can be run up to 15-30m depending on the light source, but it’s obnoxiously hard to find.

              I’ll see if I can get a couple pics of how I mount the electrical components in the rope harness itself in a little bit (dragging a bit right now since I’m sick but kinky bondage is a great motivatior)
