On flag day I checked out to a No Kings protest near my area and put on my bi pride shirt while I was out an about. I wish I could say I did more than just walk around for a bit and have my heart pounding, but it was really nice to see all the different signs, the people, and the surprising amount of cheering and positive honking people were doing as they went by. A small bit of positivity in a world filled with hate, and something I really needed to see.

Anyway, since it was flag day I was inspired to sort of take it back a lot like the idea of protests, and draw myself holding some flags. This is the bi flag but I also made a No Kings varient too.

A lineless digital drawing of Foxfire, an anthro fox, holding a No Kings flag. The flag is a darker blue with a yellow crown and white outline, and a big red X through it. He has reddish brown fur, cream chest and muzzle, and very dark gray paws. The flag is held such that it is behind Foxfire over his shoulder (our right), and he is posed with legs spread out in a sort of action stance. Behind him is a baby blue circle and several diagonal trapazoid like shapes which stick out of it. To the left is text which reads "Fly Your Flag."

Being there is the most important part of any protest, so you can be proud of yourself! The world is very scary at the moment, and it is indeed nice to see so many people who agree that something has gone wrong and needs to be fixed.

That’s also some really cool art! I love their determined stance and the look in their eyes. Bi pride, heck yeah!! 🩷💜💙
    (And happy cake day!)

Thank you so much, it really was a big deal to even try for me. I’m the kind of person who can hardly make a phone call because of anxiety, it’s so hard to put myself out anywhere.

Also wow, it’s been two years already? I discovered so much after leaving Reddit for Lemmy and joining the Fediverse. I’m eternally thankful for everyone who makes software freedom possible.

Huge props to them for doing that, though yeah wow I imagine that would’ve been a fast track to a heatstroke in a lot of places outdoors this week.
