It’s a two way street after all, being a doormat sucks. Try to establish boundaries, ask for help, and say no when you need to.

    I think that part of it is that people are so lonely that any connection is seen as good, even if said connection is rather toxic. Excellent work as always.

      That, and also upbringing, like not necessarily even being aware of things being wrong or abusive. It’s part of why it’s important to talk about stuff like this, since it’s easy to internalize and normalize things—especially as a first experience.
