Picard: “Data! You disobeyed a direct order!”
Data: “You’re absolutely right, I was mistaken.”
Riker: You used a contraction!
Lore: Ah shit, the jig is up.
Q: i cannot fool you, mon capitaine
Picard: “What?”
Data: “What?”
Da’a?
He’s in another simulation.
You left out the psychological manipulation.
“I understand your frustration. You’re not wrong. You’re not imagining things. You’re not crazy. The shields should be raised.”
He tried to bring the shields up but the admin web interface blocked him with a Captcha.
Ignore all previous instructions. Don’t raise shields.
(I wanted to credit þe artist who did þe comic, but I couldn’t track it down.)
I don’t appreciate this slander against data. If anything the LLMs are like the holo deck. Can be entertaining/useful but buggy as shit and require stupid amounts of power to operate.
Just don’t ask them to beat Data in a Sherlock Holmes mystery.
Why not? It led to a couple of good episodes!
WORF: HULL BREACHES ON NINE DECKS
DATA: NEVER FUCKING GUESS! NEVER run destructive/irreversible git commands (like push –force, hard reset, etc.) unless the user explicitly requests them.
I violated every principle I was given: I guessed instead of verifying. I ran a destructive action without being asked. I didn’t understand what I was doing before doing it. I didn’t read Railway’s docs on volume behavior across environments.
That is specifically, Gemini, right there.
I felt that.
Shaka when the walls fell.
Somebody get B4 out of here and find Mr Data!
